Welcome back to the “Design and Align Your Business Podcast!” This episode is incredibly special to me as I celebrate my third anniversary of transitioning from a secure job to the unpredictable world of full-time entrepreneurship. In "Evolving from Uncertainty to Certainty," I take you through my transformative journey, sharing the pivotal lessons and experiences that have shaped my path.
The Initial Struggle: Facing Self-Doubt and Identity Shifts
The early stages of my entrepreneurial journey were marked by intense self-doubt and fear. Leaving my job wasn’t just a career change—it was a significant personal upheaval. As a child of Polish immigrants raised in a tight-knit Chicago community, my identity had long been tied to my job, title, and salary. When I decided to step into entrepreneurship, I had to navigate both personal growth and a profound shift in my identity.
I must confess, the first year was particularly tough. I often grappled with feelings of inadequacy, wondering if I made the right choice. My identity was so entwined with my previous professional role that it took a while to see myself as a capable entrepreneur.
Discovering and Embracing Human Design
Three months into my entrepreneurial journey, I found Human Design. This intricate system, which combines astrology, I Ching, Kabbalah, and chakra insights, offered me a new lens through which to understand myself. I discovered that I am a 5/2 Sacral Generator. Initially, my unconscious identity as a "two-line hermit" didn’t resonate with me. I was bewildered and somewhat resistant.
However, as I delved deeper into Human Design, I began to see how understanding my design could bring both personal growth and business alignment. It became a significant turning point. Embracing my 5/2 profile offered insights that seemed to peel back layers of my being, revealing parts of myself I had long ignored. I began to advise others to explore their unconscious profile lines for their own breakthroughs.
Entering the Hermit Season: A Time for Internal Work
In the past month, I intentionally entered a period I call my "hermit season." I stepped back from public engagements, including my beloved Human Design Happy Hour, to focus on introspection and internal growth. This period of solitude allowed me to align more closely with my inner guidance, something I hadn’t fully embraced before. I look forward to launching new offerings in October, enriched by the insights gained during this time.
The Entrepreneurial Grind: Challenges and Breakthroughs
Being an entrepreneur is challenging—there’s no sugarcoating it. The path is laden with continuous personal development, skill acquisition, and the need to overcome limiting beliefs. Yet, for those who are committed, the rewards are immense. I’ve discovered that it’s a journey filled with higher levels of abundance and fulfillment if you trust the process.
When I look back, I see how my early uncertainties shaped my growth. The fears and doubts compelled me to dig deeper, learn more, and evolve. I encourage you to trust your journey, even when it feels overwhelming.
Transforming Through Leadership and Spiritual Exploration
The third year of my journey was particularly transformative. I began to experience substantial growth through leadership roles and spiritual exploration. Integrating Human Design principles into my life and business solidified my confidence and direction. I’m now excited about potentially launching a workshop series to help others tune into their strategy and authority.
Building Certainty: The Role of Community and Internal Trust
Throughout my journey, I shifted from seeking external validation to gaining internal certainty. This internal shift was perhaps the most liberating part of my journey. Surrounding myself with a supportive community was essential. Even if they don't fully understand your vision, having a network that provides encouragement and a safe space for your growth can make all the difference.
Entrepreneurship is a continual journey of self-discovery and alignment. Reflect on your past, envision your future, and embrace your unique path. Trust your internal guidance, understand your purpose, and step confidently into your direction. These elements are the keys to achieving both success and fulfillment.
Believe in your journey. Despite its uncertainties, every step holds the promise of transformation and certainty. Here’s to evolving together from uncertainty to certainty!
